About The Cereal Diet

Now many of us simply love to eat and are lover of exotic dishes. It is however difficult to stay on a diet and try out any number of Caribbean recipes. One diet that has been making the rounds is the Cereal diet. Here is a bit about this diet.
The cereal diet is one that calls for replacing meals with cereal. Generally, the dieter will consume cereal for two meals, breakfast and lunch, then have a sensible dinner. The cereal should be a whole-grain, high-fiber one and it should be consumed with low-fat milk. The amount of cereal eaten is one cup per meal.
The duration of the diet is typically two weeks, with gradual additions of other foods, like fruit and vegetables, into the breakfast and lunch meals after two weeks. After four weeks, it is strongly recommended that cereal be limited to one meal a day, such as breakfast.
The cereal diet is not meant to be a lasting, lifestyle change. It is meant to allow for relatively quick weight loss, which will typically be regained after the four week period. People who need to lose eight to ten pounds for a certain special event (such as a wedding) are typical cereal dieters.
It is important to note that this diet will not result in lasting weight loss if no other lifestyle changes (such as regular physical activity) are made. The fiber in the cereal lets you “feel full”, allowing you to consume fewer calories during the diet. However, the diet does not provide for adequate nutritional intake, so it is not recommended for periods beyond a few weeks.
